David Chung Ministries International (DCMi), led by Pastor and Missionary David Chung, held a fundraising evening for evangelism in Pakistan, formally advancing preparations for a large-scale Gospel Festival in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital, in 2027, in partnership with local churches.
The event took place September 19 at Grace Community Church in Auburn, Washington. DCMi shared the realities of missionary work and the circumstances facing local churches in Pakistan, while presenting its vision for the 2027 festival.
Churches in the Islamabad area are organizing the 2027 Gospel Festival. DCMi has been meeting with local church leaders and preparing for the gathering through prayer and cooperation.
In Islamabad, organizers plan to invite about 25,000 people. DCMi hopes the festival will be more than a large evangelistic gathering, serving as a catalyst for unity among local churches, prayer, spiritual revival, evangelism, and ongoing discipleship.
Pakistan is a predominantly Muslim country, where more than 96 percent of the population practices Islam and Christians account for less than 2 percent.
Many Pakistani Christians live in densely populated, impoverished urban neighborhoods. In some areas, families lack adequate access to electricity, sanitation, running water, and clean drinking water. Discrimination can limit employment opportunities, leaving many Christians working in low-paying jobs, hazardous or unsanitary cleaning work, or domestic service in wealthier households. Despite these challenges, Pakistani churches continue to worship and share the Gospel.
Pakistan’s constitution establishes Islam as the state religion while also guaranteeing freedom of religious practice. Local Christians continue to worship publicly and maintain their faith amid many difficulties.

Churches in Islamabad are working across congregational and denominational lines for evangelism and spiritual renewal. DCMi intends to partner with local leaders so that the 2027 festival strengthens churches and leads to sustained outreach and discipleship.
Following the Islamabad festival, DCMi is also preparing a Gospel Festival for approximately 1,000 to 2,000 people in Abbottabad at the request of local churches.
Abbottabad is known as the city where al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, who orchestrated the September 11 attacks, was hiding before he was killed in a 2011 U.S. special operations raid. DCMi is approaching the ministry there through close cooperation and prayer with local churches.
DCMi views its Pakistan initiative not as a one-time event but as a long-term effort involving Gospel proclamation, strengthening local churches, and training leaders. It has invited churches and believers in the United States to partner through prayer and financial support.
“God is opening a new door for the Gospel in Pakistan,” David Chung said. He urged believers to join the mission God is unfolding so people in Pakistan can experience freedom and the joy of salvation in the Gospel and the truth of Jesus Christ.
The two Gospel Festivals are expected to require approximately $200,000. The fundraising evening raised $49,322.40, providing nearly one-quarter of the needed amount.
DCMi is asking churches and believers in the United States to continue praying for evangelism in Pakistan and to partner financially.
Contributions may be made at https://dcmi.org/pakistan-mission-fundraiser/. Checks payable to “DCMi” may be mailed to P.O. Box 4161, Federal Way, WA 98063. DCMi issues tax-deductible donation receipts for all contributions.

Alongside presenting the Pakistan mission vision, Agape Art Mission offered traditional Korean dance performances. The Hansam dance and other cultural presentations introduced attendees to the beauty of Korean culture and combined artistic expression with missionary purpose.
DCMi is an international mission organization founded by Missionary David Chung. Its mission is to “Reach People, Teach Leaders, Transform Nations.” Alongside large evangelistic gatherings, its principal strategies include training pastors and church leaders so they can continue evangelizing and making disciples in their communities.
DCMi has partnered with local churches to hold Gospel Festivals and pastoral leadership conferences in countries including Cambodia, Nepal, Rwanda, Kenya, Nigeria, Myanmar, Ethiopia, and Côte d’Ivoire. As it prepares for the 2027 Pakistan festivals, it plans to deepen its cooperation with local churches.
