Dear Friends, January 2019
Happy New Year!
Last December I traveled to Cambodia to present DCMi’s ministry to the church leaders of the three provinces in the north of Phnom Penh. After my presentation, the churches of the Province of Kampong Thom decided to host DCMi for a gospel festival in 2020. As our plans unfold, one or two more provinces may join us later. For your reference, the top circle in the left-hand map represents Kampong Thom and the circle below represents Phnom Penh in the map of Cambodia. Under the leadership of Franklin Graham, the Billy Graham Team is scheduled to hold a gospel festival in Phnom Penh this November.
Once we come up with more concrete plans, we will focus on training pastors and Christians in Kampong Thom for evangelism and discipleship over the next two years. After our festival concludes in November 2020, we will return every 6-12 months for a few more years for follow through on the fruits of our festival and to further develop pastors for quality ministry. Many of you have asked what is happening in Nepal since the anti-conversion law took effect last summer. While there has been no severe persecution of Christians in Nepal, neither has there been any evangelism since the law was implemented. I believe this is the time for us to help develop the next generation Christian leaders in Nepal. In the upcoming few years, I am planning to commit myself to recruiting and developing next generation leaders in Nepal.
Apart from Cambodia and Nepal, we also have invitations from Ethiopia and India this year. Your prayers and support are truly appreciated. If you do not have a missionary or evangelist you are supporting, would you pray about supporting David Chung Ministries International for the next 12 months? I am asking God to bring 10 new individuals, churches or Christian businesses that will support DCMi this year with a monthly commitment of $50. If you are already one of our financial partners, we thank you again. We are excited to see how God will work through our partnership in 2019!
With Joy,
David Chung
