Dear Friends,                                                                               December 26, 2020

Throughout this crazy year, God has been faithful!  Though my life and ministry have been turned upside down with COVID, God has given me creative solutions which have allowed me to continue a fruitful ministry.

In early March, while serving in Cambodia, I had to abruptly return to Seattle due to the outbreak of COVID.  As COVID worsened, I was initially depressed because traveling to mission fields for evangelism was deemed impossible.  God’s plan, however, was different.  When we supplied food for suffering Christians on the mission fields, Christian churches were united and new opportunities for evangelism opened up even wider.

When the possibility of developing leaders on the mission fields looked bleak or impossible due to COVID, the Lord brought them to my office via Zoom.  I have never trained so many leaders of various countries like I did this year.  For the first time, I also had the opportunity to train a group of French-speaking leaders in Africa and France.  It is my prayer that I will be able to keep developing godly leaders in Europe as Europe is the least evangelized continent of the world in our time.

The unforeseen pause created by COVID has turned out to be a blessing to me.  In use of the unexpected time given to me, I have sharpened my leadership skills and knowledge through research and prayer this year.  I am so looking forward to the Post-COVID era in which I can fully engage my mission of evangelizing the world and developing leaders therein.  The Sisophon Gospel Festival of Cambodia, initially planned for December 24th and 25th has been postponed until after virus restrictions are lifted.

Kay lost her mother and her great niece this year.  Thank you so much for your prayers.  Grace wrapped up her first quarter at community college.  She thrived in the virtual environment as social distancing is a way of life for people with autism.  J  Of all the classes she took, she most enjoyed French.  She is so determined to learn French so that she will travel to France and French-speaking Africa with her dad.  We have been blessed to live with our dear friends for several months as our home is being renovated.  We look forward to moving back soon. Our family wishes all of you a very Happy New Year!

With Much Gratitude,

David Chung
